This is Hubert’s second stint at CHOC Neuroscience Laboratories working under Dr. Schwartz. Soon after graduating with a B.S. in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine, Hubert was hired to work on projects centering on the characterization of human neural stem cells (hNSC), hNSC culturing techniques, and deriving novel hNSC lines from patients with neurological pathologies. During this time, the Neuroscience Lab also became one of the first laboratories in the U.S. to culture human embryonic stem cells. Hubert served as a teaching assistant in several NIH-sponsored Human Embryonic Stem Cell Training Courses.
After briefly attending graduate school at Northwestern University Institute for Neuroscience, Hubert returned to CHOC Neuroscience Laboratories. As part of the Autism Biorepository, Hubert performs the iPSC reprogramming and maintains the novel iPSC lines.
Hubert is the author of 3 textbook chapters, on Human Neural Stem Cell Culturing, iPSC reprogramming with Lentivirus, and Immunocytochemistry.
Hubert has 2 cats.
